Over 750 kids, ages 8-12 were able to experience making their very own hologram for the first time in free, hands-on Holography workshops tailored to introduce kids to new topics and technologies in STEM fields. The workshops were held in 36 locations across the United States.

These sessions have the following description:
“Have your kids ever wondered how holograms work? In the Holography activity, kids use laser light and hologram film to create a hologram of their own … At the end of the session, participants will take home their hologram … so they can continue to explore the world of holograms at home!”

The workshops combine our Hologram Kit and our Instant Hologram Film, and even played with the recently popular “hologram pyramid” to introduce kids to Holography. It was a great experience for kids to expand their STEM interest in a hands-on environment outside of the traditional classroom. Thank you to Verizon and PLTW for using our Hologram Kits as a way to teach and encourage hologram engineers of the future!

Project Lead The Way is a nonprofit organization that provides a transformative learning experience for K-12 students and teachers across the U.S. They create an engaging classroom environment unlike any other. PLTW empowers students to develop and apply in-demand, transportable skills by exploring real-world challenges. Through their pathways in computer science, engineering, and biomedical science, students not only learn technical skills, but also learn to solve problems, think critically and creatively, communicate, and collaborate. They also provide teachers with the training, resources, and support they need to engage students in real-world learning.

Verizon Innovative Learning, through its Verizon Wireless retail stores, gives kids the opportunity to explore technology and learn new skills through hands-on, experiential technology workshops for elementary and middle schools students (ages 8-12). Designed to foster greater student interest in STEM subjects, workshops expose students to topics like virtual reality, 3D design and printing, robotics, coding and more.

This past spring, we had the chance to partner with Project Lead the Way and Verizon Innovative Learning to bring Litiholo Hologram Kits to Verizon Smart Stores across the country for a third time!
