We have some exciting news to share with you all: Our first production test units for the 3D Hologram Printers are coming together. It’s been a long road, but this is a real milestone moment for us!
We have had to produce our units almost entirely from scratch, and on a budget at that. No one has ever created a 3D Hologram Printer for the mass market, so almost everything is custom. We’ve had to build the production ourselves, from the ground up!
Sure, we could have paid a lot of money to someone to do this for us, but that would ultimately make the price of our 3D Hologram Printers out of reach for most people. And the added bonus is that we have gained a tremendous amount of insight and control over the process to make sure this is done right and our customers are getting the best value for their money!
Although this has been a bumpy road at times, we try to let ourselves enjoy the process and have some fun with what we are doing. The early test production units each have a different nickname, depending on their testing purpose. We have one called Moonwalker, which is where we test any new features we have added. Another one we call Marathoner is just printing non-stop to test the motors, shutter, wheels, bearings, etc. We also have one called Traveler, which is the unit we use to testing shipping methods and the durability of our packing materials.
We have to keep reminding ourselves that our goal is to get this product out to our customers! We need to get this baby bird out of the nest, and let it fly. While we are excited to be building and perfecting the first-ever desktop 3D Hologram Printer, we know that the real value is when it gets into your hands. We can’t wait to see what you do with yours!
